CASE STUDY VOLUNTEERS WANTED

Have you had Reconstructive Facial Surgery?

The word Facial Surgery is often associated with a nip here and a tuck there, but this can be totally unnecessary as similar results can be achieved with the Natural Face Lift Massage treatments that I practice and teach.

However, Reconstructive Facial Surgery is totally different as this surgery can be both medically necessary and life saving in cases of facial injury, deformity or diseases such as cancer and the medical profession can perform some amazing surgery to help patients and save lives.

The main part of my practice has been to use non-invasive natural techniques, Reiki, Acupressure and Ayurvedic Massage, to help clients to look younger and more vibrant, but I have also had the privilege of treating a small number of clients who have had major reconstructive facial surgery.  These clients have all had similar experiences in that the surgery performed has been successful and they are grateful that they have been given their lives back, but the appearance of the scarring, post operation, has left them with some facial disfigurement and discomfort.

At present there is no aftercare offered to patients following facial surgery.

One particular patient, who had plastic surgery, following removal of a tumour, found that my massage techniques have enabled her to have more movement around the mouth, as the treatment has released the tightness and tension of her facial muscles. This in turn has helped her eat and drink (she is no longer dribbling) and with her speech.  She is also now experiencing sensations in areas around her mouth that were previously numb and improved her vision, where the therapy has helped lift the drooping eye lid.  The best feedback I received from her, was that she now felt a renewed self-confidence and is smiling in public for the first time in many years.

Through working with these patients I have discovered how the therapy I practice, can offer a non-invasive alternative to assist patients in their recovery after facial surgery.  By giving movement and flexibility back to areas of the face that had previously been immobile and to reduce the physical appearance of scarring and adhesions.

It is for these reasons I have been considering the wider applications of this therapy and I am asking for your help.  I would like to document a number of case studies and offer 8 sessions of this therapy, free of charge, to 3 or 4 people who have had reconstructive facial surgery and who would like to see and feel an improvement in their appearance.  I hope to present this evidence to Plastic & Maxillofacial Surgeons once these studies have been completed, so that my treatments can be made available to others who at present are not offered any post surgical care.

If you, or a friend or relative have had facial surgery and are interested in becoming a case study, please contact me on 01923 855780.
